Problem Copying a DVD Using One Drive

John_Schneider

Question

I am using v. 7 and can no longer copy DVDs that I have made myself using my one DVD-RW drive. I used to be able to but no longer can. Every time I try, I get the following error message: "You need 2.1GB of temporary space in the temporary folder to create the disk. The temporary folder has 34.6GB of free space. Please free up more temporary space on your computer hard disk, then try again." When I first experienced this problem, I got it to work after re-trying a couple of times but now it never works again. I have also had to reformat my hard drive since this problem began and that has not solved the problem. I tried uninstalling v. 7 and installing v. 6, which came bundled with my DVD-RW drive, but had the same problem, so I reinstalled v. 7. It still won't work.

Something is screwy because if I have I have 34.6GB of space available in my temporary folder and only need 2.1GB, there should be no problem.

Open disc copier and save it to the HD. Then reburn the copy, better and safer!

cd

I tried that, too, but the process gets to 103% and just gets stuck there.

In addition, make sure you don't have IE 7 installed on your computer. It kills EMC 7, 7.5, and 8.

I have IE 7 installed. I guess I'll have to figure out how to uninstall it and install an earlier version, if that's possible. Thanks!

Click start, and then click control panel, click add or remove programs, check show updates at the top of the dialog box. Find internet explorer 7 and remove it, then restart your computer, then you will have internet explorer 6 back.

cd
