Crossfades with iTunes purchases?

mrkinla2

Question

One question I haven't been able to find an explicit answer for: will Toast 8 allow me to burn discs with crossfades with songs purchased from the iTunes store? I spent a considerable amount of money on Toast with Jam only to find out that DRM-protected iTunes music purchases could not be burned that way -- and I pretty much buy all my music from the iTunes store anymore.

Thanks!

I have the same question as you, where you able to import directly, without converting the protected aac files into aif before importing them into Toast? Once you can import them, can you still do crossfades like you could with the original version of JAM?

Thanks!

Is Toast 8 basically able to import directly protected aac files purchased from the itunes music store?

Toast cannot directly use iTunes Store tracks. You would have to burn those tracks to an audio CD using iTunes and then extract them from the audio CD to use them in Toast. I'm not certain but there also may be a bug in Toast 8.0 relating to extracting audio CD tracks, so you may need to extract the tracks from the CD using iTunes before using them in Toast, at least until a Toast 8 update is released.

Once you have the tracks in Toast you can use do cross fades very much like with Jam. There are descriptions of the Jam-like features in Toast 8 in the Toast Support page.
