DIVX Files from videowave show up as nero showtime?

hi im trying to figure out the best format to edit and output my recorded tv shows in media center and burn to dvd. i have been output as divx better quality. but i cannot get them to display as the divx player, under file type they say nero.showtime.7 or something to that sort, any help or recommendations on which file quality to output as welcome thanks

Yeah, i had nero but did a clean install, but for some reason still shows up as file type nero showtime, not divx. But ive been playing and reading around a little. But im still trying to figure out the best way to Take my media center recording dvr-ms files and cut out commercials then burn to dvds. i cut out the commercials on one show, then output it as mpeg2 smallest file size. But when i use mydvd to burn to dvd it begins encoding movie again? shouldnt it be ready to burn to disc? any help on how to get my recorded tv shows to dvd would be greatly appreciated. im getting frustrated here. thanks all

Are you selecting output to DVD authoring? Smallest size might not be DVD compatible so that maybe why its being encoded again.

Will they play in any player such as Nero 7's player? Most likely when you installed Nero it asked you if you wanted to use Nero to play (and control) certain types of files and it set Nero to do that but you can change the file association in Windows Explorer under Tools/Folder Options/File Types.

I don't know how well Videowave will work with dvr-ms files but others here who use MC may be able to help you with that.
