ECDDVD CREATOR 6

PC Tiger

Recommended Posts

I am running Easy CD/DVD creator 6 ( i have also installed Easy Media creator 8, but it wouldnt recognise my projects from creator 6, these needed burning - so i have reinstalled ECDDVDC 6)

Creator 6 was fine previously, however its NOT playing ball since the re-install ( following a drive format and fresh XP OS install ).

Now iin DVD builder it gets to the encoding process then with about 8 mnutes remaining of burn it stops with an error mesage saying the 'process did not complete in the time allowewd' etc etc.

On one ocasion the PC then crashed and a Blue screen claimed a critical error had occured.

Is it possible to EXPORT the project back to my DV camera? I could then burn the EDITED version straight into a standalone DVD recorder from my DV camera.

There was never any problems before i Formated the Hard Drive and Installed the New XP OS, and creator 8, though these issues are with creator 6, which is running alongside 8.

I see a lot of people in other topics are being advised to look at Internet Explorer, i dont see the relevance. ( sory i'm not very knowlegable on software issues)

ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I have 120 GB of video footage, it is in creaor 6 projects, unrecognised by other software, i realy dont wish to lose many hours of compiling. :)

Thanks.

If you are running Internet Explore 7, roll back to 6, see if that fixes your problem, if not get back on here.

Your last sentence makes no sense! " I have 120 GB of video footage, it is in creaor 6 projects, unrecognised by other software, i realy dont wish to lose many hours of compiling"

V6 captures only as an AVI which is fully compatible with all editing software!

I think you are referring to the Save option which creates a set of notes about your Project in an HPR file. In that case you are correct, only V6 Builder would understand them. This is also true of all other editing software, project files are unique to a particular software…

Thanks for your input,

I have followed your instructions, however in Add or Remove Programs, when scrolling throught the list of Programmes in search of Internet Explorer, IT IS NOT THERE,

Internet Explorerris definately installed, as i have a short cut & i can use it!!

Could it be listed as something else, or under a different description, i have searched with the "show updates" box both Checked and Unchecked.

Sorry if i sound a little lost, but i am.

Thanks, in anticipation of Help. :)

Yes James, Thankyou.

To clarify, the HPR projectes are obsolete other than in Creator 6.

The AVI files are all available but are Mumbo-jumbo mixed up, AND i would have lost Many Many hours of editing and compiling if i am not successful in resolving this.

Your Help is Greatly apreciated.

Obviously you are using a browser. At the top, after the page, it will say WHICH browser it is, but not which Version. Example:

ECDDVD CREATOR 6 - Roxio Community - Microsoft Internet Explorer

If it is Internet Explorer, in the row that starts 'File' 'Edit', etc, click on 'Help', and at the bottom of that menu it says "About Internet Explorer". It will open a box that will tell you which Version you are using.

Thanks for yor input Lyn.

My browser is Mozilla Firefox. (I prefer the layout and tabs option to other browsers)

The exact details where you specified are : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9

I also have AOL installed as i was previously using AOL broadband as a provider,

I still subscribe to AOL for keeping my old Email address active and the software is stil there.

I am now using ORANGE HOME BROADBAND as my Internet provider, but MOZILLA for browsing.

IS THIS ANY HELP??? :)

Thanks for all the input.

Internet Explorer should still be on your system - try finding it (even if you have to go to \Program files\Internet Explorer) and run it to check on the version

It's the installation of that that causes the problem - not the actual running of it.

Also make sure that you did NOT install Windows Media Player 11 (that wrecks ECD as well)

Yes its there,

It is the following "file version" 6.0.2900.2180

But i still cand find it in "add or Remove programs" to uninstall or rollback.

? :)

OK.............. were getting there. IE 6 is ok (its IE 7 that is causing problems).

You were also asked earlier in this thread to make sure that you did NOT install Windows Media Player 11

I certainly hope we are getting there..........

In response to OGDENS and qi7omy i have checked windows media player and found that i amusing te following version ..... 10.00.004036

It seems i am not using WMP11, however this still leaves the Internet Explorer option open, i would happily remove it, whichever version it is, if only i could find it!

Any help is greatfully received..... :)

The Version of Internet Explorer which causes trouble isn't on your computer. So that isn't the answer.

IE & WMP seem to be in order so let's look into other areas.

You mentioned a reformat/install. Have you installed the chipset drivers for your BIOS?

If you open the Hardware Manager (Win-Pause, Hardware tab) and look at the burners, are any errors showing? While there, delete the drives, exit out and reboot. – This will force XP to reinstall the drivers for the drives.

Can you burn to an ISO file without burning to disc? If that works, use Builder to burn that file to disc.

Thanks James,

I should add the folowing details....

My DVDR drive works fine with ANY OTHER burning software i have installed,

Other software includes :

NERO 6

CLONE DVD 2

ROXIO EASY MEDIA CREATOR 8 ( not used yet / going to test burn this now )

WMP 10

I am wondering if i need to find any kind of Update or Patch for Creator 6.

I could not find anything at the ROXIO site except the Engine update which i have run, any other update would not run, claiming it was not for my version ( for platinum only etc)

If there is any such Patch / Update , please explain where exactly it can be found.

many thanks....... :)

THE EXACT PROBLEM OCCURS AS FOLOS :-

When Burning, the window displays :-

BURN DISC PROGRESS

Disc 1 of 1, Writing table of contents

Phase Progress 100%

Disc Progress

Recording Phase 10%

remaining time 3:10min

This Screen remains visible for some time,

The drive then Ejects the Disc and another window displays the following

ERRORS WERE DETECTED DURING THE RECORDING OR ON YOUR NEW DISC

VIEW ERRORS :- DISC CREATION ERRORS :-

E 8004 1930 : Track write error - wait failed - (T7123)

double click on an error to view details

ON DOING SO, THE FOLLOWING WINDOW OPENS.....

Track write error - wait failed

Problem :-

The command did not finnish during the time it should have taken

And thats it, I have sucessfully ued the Same Discs in The same drive to Copy Discs using NERO 6,

I have tried to use alternative media when using Ceator 6, but have the same result.

Please advise if anyone can,

Thanks for all help. :)

If you have Nero installed, you should know that Nero's InCD will clash with Roxio's Drag to Disc - you cannot have two packet writing programs on the same machine (they both fight for control of the drive)

However, as packet writing is probably the least successful way yo back up data (and is a surefire way of LOSING your data), I'd remove both (InCD and D2D) and see what happens

Track write error problems are USUALLY caused by the burner or the media.

It's also possible that you need an update to the burner from the manufacturer. Some burners require updates to be able to burn to newer DVDs.

I know you have tried a different brand of disc, maybe try a name brand like Verbatim.

I will try a NAMED brand as suggested, however i must add that NERO and CLONE have both burned successfully using the Media i have been using (Datawrite DVD-R mach4 8xSpeed).

on the same Drive (Pioneer DVD-R DVR-106D DVD/CD-ROM drive).

So with this in mind, it would sugest that the drive is OK, and the media relatively compatible.

Though i will try the named Media as sugested.

ANY FURTHER SUGGESTIONS / ADVISE / RESOLUTION VERY GREATFULLY RECEIVED. :)

Go to the Pioneer web site and see if there is any firmware updates for your 106d.

If one of the critical files was over-written with a different file with the same name but different contents, uninstalling the over-writing program would not change the file back to what it was.

(BTW - Nero and Roxio usually play well together IF there is only ONE Packet-Writing program - Drag2Disc OR InCD. Since Packet-Writing is best for permantly LOSING files, it wouldn't be a bad idea not to have either.)

Try a repair install of ECD/DVDC 6.

I have obtained UPDATE fro Pioneer webste for my Drive.

I have carried out REPAIR INSTAL of ECDDVD 6.

I have then MODIFIED the Install of ECDDVD 6 to remove all aplications (including Drag2Disc) and retained ONLY DVD BUILDER.

On a test burn, THE SAME RESULT....

ANY ADVISE??
