jroc
I have a Videowave 7 project created that I want to burn to disk. When I click Burn I see that Finalize Disk is grayed out. I can burn a disk but can't play it on my set top DVD player, I assume because the disk isn't finalized. Suggestions? Thanks.

bimicher
I changed my signature to show what system information I could come up with. Where can I find more info to give you on my video card specs? I'm trying to create an annual slideshow for my family, composed with photos taken at holidays and other family events. I had most of it done, with each segment (seven separate shows) each burned to a separate disk for preview purposes before I combine them all into a single show. I've been doing this without problems for 2 years, until now. I'm using IE6, not IE7, and I burn the shows to CD-R disks as I have for those 2 years and viewing them on my set-top DVD player. My two daughters view their copies of the shows on their set-top DVD players. I create a slideshow, output it to VideoWave then burn it to disk with DVD Builder. Now all of a sudden I have this problem with the Finalize Disk box grayed out (if that's even the problem) and can't view a burned production on my DVD player. I don't know whether this is enough information for you, or more than you need. At any rate I could sure use some help. Jim A few things stand out from your system specs and post. You have the same graphics controller I originally had in my Dell system and EMC 7 would not work with it and I had to get a "proper" graphics card. Since you do not seem to have a DVD burner only a CD burner (could not find any info on it in the internet, is that the right model number?) you must be creating a VCD or SVCD disc. I don't quite understand what you mean by "I create a slideshow, output it to VideoWave then burn it to disk with DVD Builder". The normal process is to create the slideshow in Videowave and save it as a dmsm file and then use DVD Builder, load the dmsm file, create menus and burn. You can also output to a mpeg video file from Videowave and then load that file into DVD Builder for burning. "Finalize disc" is not required and should be greyed out. Well, I'll be! Thanks, Walt. I stand corrected, and my apology to my Wisconsin neighbor. No problem, Bruce. Must be the "cooler" temperatures affecting some of the grey matter

Video DVDs are automatically finalized so there is no need for the "Finalize Disc" option. What kind of DVD media did you use, -R or +R? Which type can your DVD player play? Does the DVD you created play on your computer? Did you use DVD Builder to burn the DVD? Also if you have IE7 installed on your system, Videowave 7 will propably be "broken" by IE7 and you will have to uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6. Could you also list your system specs, especially video card, similar to what I have in my signature.

After some test runs this morning I figured out what was wrong, I was trying to use a music track (as soundtrack) that I didn't have a license for. I purchased the song through Yahoo Music but apparently didn't do something necessary to get the license. Once I have that license I can finish my production. Thanks for your advice, and Bruce you should be glad you're not in Superior today. Between last night and today they're supposed to get about 16" of snow. The snow was actually farther east in the snowbelt part of Douglas County, and other counties. Here, in northern Minnesota, we got no snow, just below zero temps. golinux
If you have WMP 11, get rid of it too. It also has been known to cause problems with EMC 7x.
