luky
I have a Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6. It works fine with my PC when it was under Windows 2000 (English version). But, when company requests to upgrade the PC into Windows XP (Chinese version). My Roxio program can not work properly. It shows funny characters that I can not read. Some are like Thailand words and more are just "????????????" marks. What I can do for it?
gi7omy
The only way I can think round the problem here would be to set up a new admin account in XP and set the language to English. You would then be able to log-on on the Chinese account with everything working and, when you need to use ECD, log off and log back in the 'English' account. What is happening is that the Chinese settings don't recognise the English character set - and this is down to the basic Operating System and the language installed. You should be able to add English as an alternate from Control Panel, Regional & Language One warning though - do NOT install Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Media Player 11 in the XP system or you will kill off ECD6. Thank you very much for your reply! I indeed followed your instruction to add English as an alternate in Fegionla & Language of Control Panel, but it still doesn't work. What I can do for it? Reinstall it? The software came with PC when I order it. Where I can get its original one to reinstall? Hope other way can help to resolve and make sure not violate the copyright. Thank you very much again and wish you hear from you again!
lynn98109
They still have some copies available on eBay.com; probablyyour nearest eBay or similar, or amazon.com or similar, would have some. Since it came with the computer, a copy of the Basic Version would probably be about what you had (different OEM [Original Eqpt Mfgr] providers may have variations between their Versions - the difference in the list I jut pulled up from eBay is the difference between under $4 for Basic and over $25 for Platinum. gi7omy
Add a new account with administrator privileges and set that to English as the prinmary langauge. Install Easy CD there When you wish to use it, you will have to log off the Primary (Chinese) account and log on to the new (English) account. Lynn - he needs either a Chinese version or a way to set up the computer so that he can use the English language version - do you know if Chinese was available on that? lynn98109
Those would be the standard Version 6, which doesn't have Chinese. There are eBay sites in both China (www.ebay.com.cn) and Hong Kong (www.ebay.com.hk) - I have not clicked thru because I would expect any postings for a Chinese Version to be in Chinese. (Also - even tho I again have a functioning AV as well as FireWall - the caution from before I got the Win2K computer is fairly ingrained - often, I just looked at a google search page and didn't click thru) Lynn
