austinnate
I plan on buying the soon to be released Apple TV. I have been using Popcorn2 to convert my movies into playable formats....then adding them into itunes. I'm wondering if anyone out there has come up with a better way that is at the top of the tech specs for the apple TV? Please remember that I'm talking about legally owned movies. Also I wonder if Popcorn2 will release an update that will allow us to take full advantage of the appleTV tech specs......
tsantee
You won't get any answers here to speculative questions. Roxio won't reveal any plans. What spec are you concerned isn't supported in Popcorn 2?
austinnate
You won't get any answers here to speculative questions. Roxio won't reveal any plans. What spec are you concerned isn't supported in Popcorn 2? Apple TV has a little higher tech specs as to what it can handle. Video formats supported: H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): 640 by 480, 30 fps, LC version of Baseline Profile; 320 by 240, 30 fps, Baseline profile up to Level 1.3; 1280 by 720, 24 fps, Progressive Main Profile. MPEG-4: 640 by 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile Since apple TV will be able to show 1280x720 I was hoping popcorn 2 could add this profile...
freshburn
There's not much use in having that format in Popcorn as DVD content is only 720x480 and upscaling to 1280x720 will just result in a larger file and loss of quality. Unless you are using HD content in the form of DivX or EyeTV, 1280x720 doesn't do much good.
