That worked. Then, I went in and edited a few individual photos that I wanted to zoom a certain way just as you explained in this post. It appeared to work when I did it in the storyline view, but now, when I go back and preview the entire project, everything has gone back to the way it was on the automatic pan and zoom settings. Do I need to do something to save my edited pan and zoom settings besides click okay after changing each one? Hope this makes sense the way I'm explaining it! Grammy I just went back and double checked something. The pan and zoom features are still behaving the unedited way in the preview window. When I right clicked the photos in the storyline, then edit, then pan and zoom (as described above for changing it), the settings still read they way I changed them. They just aren't moving the way I changed them to go in the preview. Hmmm, any ideas? Or is this program really trying to make me go crazy! Or make me seem like I am?! Actually, I guess I kind-of am a little crazy for taking on a project like this! But, I like a challenge. Grammy It was pointed out to me in the EMC9 forum that you were having trouble overriding Auto Motion using the "Edit > Pan & Zoom". I have EMC8 on my church computer but have never used it to build a slideshow (it crashed the first time I attempted to add pictures manually so I didn't give it a second chance), so I always used EMC7.5 on my personal computer due to reliability, that is until recently. My EMC 7.5 MYDVD stopped working 3 hours before a tribute service..........so later that week I purchased EMC9. Now my hair is even greyer............ In VideoWave-9 (which must be very similar to EMC8 based on comments read here) I had difficulty overriding "Auto Motion" when using "New Slide Show" wizard. I found a workaround in Videowave-9 (albeit strange), that I used to complete a project with 117 photos. I was able to change about 100 of the photos manually, once I found how to get around this bug. See the forum thread below, and try it on VideoWave-8: Override VideoWave Auto Pan & Zoom I hope this works for you! I have confirmed the previous poster's method also works.............. Boy I learned a lot in the last week or so. Thanks for all the help you folks provided! The pan and zoom edits worked fine as I described above--using the automotion for the entire show, then editing some frames manually by right clicking the frame-choosing edit-choosing the motion I wanted- then going on to the next photo. At the end, I saved and exited Videowave (which updated the preview screen). When I restarted the file, all changes worked perfectly! Thanks again, Grammy Thanks MikeE for the pat on the back! I really appreciate your help!Grammy In storyline mode, highlight all pictures (I believe Ctrl+A should work). Then right click an image. Choose "Apply Auto Motion". I saved the non-panning version and then got them all to pan randomly using the instructions in the first reply here. That works great! Now, there are a few of the pan photos that I would like to change seperately to make them zoom only. Is there a way to do that and leave all the others as they are? Your help with this project has been great! It was supposed to be completed by this weekend, but if forgot about the holiday, so I got a surprise extention until tomorrow morning! Grammy Grammy - good 'catch' on closing and reopening the project. I too thought I was going nuts with this. Added auto motion for the whole project then manually edited a few of the pictures with pan and zoom. But when played back in the preview the manual edits didn't show up. I really appreciate your help!Grammy Save your production before you do this under another file name; there is no way to undo that command. I find too much of the wrong type of pan and zoom is boring and unnecessary. If you do this, remember that you can change the pan and zoom by reapplying it. It will change the type. malatekid Posted January 18, 2007 Report Share Posted January 18, 2007 I do remember that glitch, that whenever you edit the Pan & Zoom, it does not appear to enable the modification made. My workaround was, immediatley after editing, I arbitrarily change the duration of that image (say from 5.0 to 5.1 and then back to 5.0 again).
