Creating DVDs

Question

Here's the situation - I bought a new Toshiba Satellite laptop that has the a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-841S drive in it. I have the Roxio DVD Creator version from my old laptop (v. 9 if I'm remembering correct) and when I go to create a DVD I receive the following message...

"There are no supported recorders available. Make sure that your recorder is powered on and that all cables are attached. Also make sure that the latest version of software is installed to ensure you have the latest drivers."

Thoughts on what's wrong? Is this just that I need an updated version of Roxio?

First, even though new, make sure you have the latest drivers for your burner. Did your laptop come with any similar software pre-installed? If so, there might be a conflict. Finally, see if tech note helps with your problem.

Sounds like you have a Version 6 installed. The confusion arises in that you have posted in the Version 8 forum and then you say it "may be Version 9".

So.....would you clarify which Roxio version number you have- the version number can be found by opening Creator Classic, clicking on "help" at the top, and then "about".

//My fault, you are correct, it is v6.0; As for the drivers, I currently have the version that came installed on the PC which was just recently purchased
