How to link two movie productions in MyDVD

fhoss

Question

After reading a suggestion posted by Walt in October concerning creating productions in Videowave in several stages of 10 to 15 minutes each - after which he said - they could be combined seamlessly in MyDVD - I have tried to do so. My initial goal was to solve a problem with my EMC9 sporadically encoding menus along with a videowave project. I created two very small experimental productions in Videowave and opened MyDVD in an effort to combine them into one movie after playing [hopefully] the menu. Contrary to what Walt suggtested, I did not output these productyions into avi or mpeg files. After many experiments I have only been successful in having MyDVD encode my menu before playing the movie when I use the dmsm [the default] extension. Using Mpeg I keep getting an error message when time came to encode the menu during the process of burning it as an iso file.

So, back to my point, I can not get the 2nd movie to play in MyDVD - either for the preview or the burn to iso. I looked at the downloaded "User Guide" and looked at MyDVD help. In MyDVD help it suggested how to do it but I can not make it work. I have been doing the following:

1) File - new project - DVD

2) Bring over the two files in the order I want them

3) Selected the buttons and in "View" >"Settings" have tried every combination I can think of to no avail. The 2nd movie - for whatever reason - is not being linked to the first. In preview - after playing the menu and the first movie the 2nd movie does not appear. On the left lower side of the MyDVD screen there is a project list and after at least one series of combinations it seemed to suggest that the two movies were linked - yet, I could not get the 2nd one to play.

I feel certain I am missing something simple. I would appreciate any help one might offer.

Frank

Not Sure if you are trying to create a single title ( The two movies joined together) Or seperate titles with a play all link.

I'll assume its the latter. I'have not been able yo use this prog for a while so this may be a bit hazy.

Goto file on menu bar. Select preferences or settings or similiar. One of the options is a play all setting.

Cheers

Bluey, the original post was from almost 2 months ago and the OP never came back so I doubt that your post will be seen by the OP. You might consider replying to newer posts - up to about two weeks ago. Further back than that, we don't know if the OP fixed the problem and never came back to tell us how satisfied they were or they just gave up. There may be other reasons (duplicate posts or no known solution) that this one did not get an earlier response.
