cable connection for LP recording

I want to record my LP's to CD's. The preamp has standard old jacks. Where should I bring the signal into my computer? Can I use a USB port? Will the microphone port bring in stereo sound or will it just bring in mono?

 

Any suggestions will be most welcome.

This is sort of hidden under the 'Audio Tab". In V8, the name is "Convert LPs and Tapes". When you click on that, you get LP and Tape Assistant. Click on the set-up.

 

It is a stripped down version of what CD linked to.
