lhill05
I have a Gateway computer with windows XP. Due to some problems with spy ware I had to format my hard drive. When I reinstalled ECDC 5 I'm now getting the following errors: Disc Copier cannot find CreatorAPI. Please, reinstall Creator API. Disc Copier could not locate a supported CD-Rom Reader. You will not be able to make disc to disc copies. Creator API can't see all the CDROMS in the system. Please check if they are connected properly. I tried running roxizap to unistall and reinstalled the ECDC 5 but same problem still occurs. Can you help me please?
Brendon
Hello, All those symptoms are showing that ECDC failed to install properly after your reinstall. You do need to get all the pieces out before reinstalling. Use the Windows Control Panel add/remove programs menu to uninstall ECDC, then restart the system and use Roxizap to remove any persistent fragments or settings. Then try a reinstall. I don't know if Gateway would have any special updates ... usual method after roxizap is to reinstall (don't reboot), add updates (don't reboot), add driveup patch if needed, then reboot. But if Gateway modified it, the updates may not be enough (I would send you to Gateway, but I don't know if they are still giving the ECDC 5 updates). Lynn I contacted Gateway and they do not have any updates. They directed me back here for the updates. I unistalled ECDC 5 using the Control Panel. Restarted computer. Ran roxizap to remove persistent fragments. Restarted. I reinstalled ECDC (did not reboot) and installed Easy CD Creator Basic Updates (Updated CD Creator 5.x.x and starter kit to 5.3.5) patch update. The wizard said installed Eascy CD Creator 5.x basic to version 5.3.5.10. I then rebooted but problem still exist. Any other suggestion?

If the built-in WinXP ability to burn data and music CDs isn't enough, it's time to upgrade. (Upgrade means either buy, or find freeware) Officially, because of the changes made to the Operating System of WinXP by SP2, this 1999 program isn't supported with WinXP SP2.
