Videowave-fade out music

roubee

Question

I am able to add multiple music selections, but I would like to be able to fade out some tracks at certain points in my production so the music matches the pictures. How is this done?

Thanks :)

When I right click on the item I want to edit and go to edit, i should be able to select background video, but it is not available.it is greyed out.

I can get the double ended arrow but when I drag it and try to overlap, I get the black circle with the line through it.

Are you trying to drag the piece of music beyond the end of the slide show images? The program will not let you do that.

If that is what you are doing that, shorten the music first and then drag it to the position you want it to start. Now go to the end and do the same thing but drag the double ended arrow to the right to extend the length of the music to where you want. As an alternate, add a color panel to the end of your production and set it for some longer length of time. Now drag the music, overlap it and then shorten it so that it does not extend into the color panel. Delete the color panel when you are ginished.

I'm starting to have to guess at just where you are having the problem, Please be a little more specific about where you are having the problem. I don't know if you are having the problem dragging the music to the right to put it in place to overlap (the arrow at the start of the music) or if you are dragging the arrow to the left to shorten the music or to the right to lengthen it (double headed arrow at the end of the music piece).

As I told you at the start of this thread, I believe this to be doable but I worked with your version for only a short time before I went to the deluxe suite. I can't go back and recreate where you are having the problem. What audio tracks are you using - music, sound effects, narration? Stick with it if you have gotten this far, it should work.

What does that mean as far as fading in and out my music? Is there an upgrade I can download or purchase?

Thanks for helping me

Use two audio tracks and add the music alternately and drag them with a little overlap. Use the speaker icon to fade in/out. Adjust the overlap to make it sound the way you want it. Your overlap will only be one second but you should be able to do what you want. When you drag the beginning of the music to where you want it, go to the end and put you cursor on the centerline. you should see a double ended arrow. Move that to the left to shorten the cut to end where you want it.

The one just above the number 54 in the picture. you'll have to select each piece of music and do the fade in/ou separately. you can alos mute or adjust volume for the selected track.

If your music is DRM protected - something you bought (rented) from an on line store, you cannot use that music directly in VideoWave. What is the source of the music files?

Are you sure you are using two audio tracks and that neither one is the native audio?

I get my music from Limewire and I am using 2 tracks............I finally found the fade in/out button.......BUT.....when I would like to fade out the track before it actually ends and start my second track so it matches my pictures. When I fade out the first track, it fades alright, but continues where it left off where the second track starts..................

sorry for the confusion.........thanks for your patients

Now I'm confused. If you want to end a piece of music at a certain point, read the above where I told you about the double ended arrow and dragging the end of the track to the left so that it ends where you want it to. Now, on the other audio track, drag the beginning of the second piece of music to coincide with the end of the first track with a little overlap, continue alternating tracks until you get to the end. With your version of V8, you can get only a one second fade; that is why you must shorten the length of the music. You''ll have to play around with it until you get the end of the music and the fade at a logical musical phrase and not in the middle of a word or phrase.

Don't trust Limewire  and immediately check your computer for viruses and malware. :) If you have none, open Sound Editor, add the piece of music and export it to a wav file. Do that for each piece that you have. That will usually make the music compatible. You would not have to burn it to a disc before using it.
