asandull
Just curious... how many people use these programs that give you video animations? I was checking out Digital Hotcakes home movie essentials... it looks like a lot of fun... Anyone use that or any others?
ggrussell
I bought some from Digital Juice which seems to be aimed more at professional use. Come with software that can manipulate the animation. Change the colors or render out only portions. Can create seamless loops. They sell animated backgrounds, overlays, alpha transitions and even sound tracks and effects. ALL are royalty free after purchase.

ggrussell
You don't have to use the Juicer 2 software to convert the animated backgrounds to use those in Videowave or MyDVD since they import MOV files fine. I haven't found a way to use the overlays or transitions yet. What is nice about the Juicer software is that you can change colors or render out only parts of animation creating limitless variations. It was designed for a Mac so the software is a bit odd, but still fairly easy to understand. Some of the 13 Deals of Christmas appear to be still be available and are great deals, too. asandull
I'm making a DVD of my daughters pre-school class from the beginning of the year until the end. I've gone in a dozen times to video all they're events... most will be holiday partys, birthday parties, and just special crafts that they do... So I'm looking for a package that has all different things for each holiday... Since this is something they are really going to cherish when they are older, I'd like to make is a little extra special with some fun things... I have to browse more on that site to see If I can pick out individual files to use...

Guest ml
They are used in the StoryBuilder portion of VideoWave (File\StoryBuilder). You can make a sample project out of a small video to see how it works. The Cinemagic part of VideoWave is also a very good too to learn about tempo, flow, and transitions. It does all the work for you. There is are Tutorials built into the EMC7 home page, which tell you the basics, but unfortunately don't give a lot of examples. When I first got hooked on video editing, I was using storybuilder and cinemagic... it was so easy and fun... But then when I learned how to edit the timeline I completely stopped using those... I dont know why... but anyway, you just inspired me to throw something together for my sister who is leaving for Florida... and it only took me 20 minutes...LOL... Thanks so much... Have a good day...
Psalmist
I have made many DVDs from stills with ProShow Gold from Photodex [www.photodex.com]. Many good transitions, capability to zoom, add motion, sound track, DVD style menus, with multiple "shows" in a given DVD. You can also add video clips the same as a still photo, but I have not done that yet, as I have just begun taking video. The Digital Juice and Digital Hotcakes also look VERY interesting...will check them out tomorow... good tip on the clips available in the Roxio folders - didn't know they were there!
