Incoming AVI video stops at about 211MB

Roger43

Question

Dell Inspirion 6000

2GB RAM

Maxtor USB Drive 320 GB (260 GB available)

Sony GV-D200 Digital Video Cassette Recorder

I have tried to capture about 6 minutes of video but the capture stops after about 211MB are input. I have to restart the capture and as a result wind up with multiple clips of about 211MB instead of the one I desire. I have tried all options to no avail.

I then used Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker and did the capture with no problem and got a single 1.2 GB file.

How can I do the same thing with Roxio EMC 9 as I can with Microsoft's product.

Thanks,

Roger

This has been reported for the Sony Video Walkmans and other devices including some camcorders. No solution yet that I know. You can continue to use WMM and then 'Save to this Computer' as DV AVI or you can use a shareware app, WinDV. You can use the resulting files in Videowave/MyDVD.

I posted yesterday http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=16034

The AVI file I got from WinDV wasn't recognised by Videowave.
