import video from Hitachi DZ-MV550A?

I recently purchased Roxio Creator 9, and it seems to be a great program, even with my limited computer skills.

 

I have not been able to capture video directly from the Hitachi DZ-MV550A camera (dvd cam) I have also found it difficult to to import if I download the video onto another program and import it from there. (I have been able to get some files, but not others)

 

I have lots of video footage on the DVR tapes that I would like to import and edit. Can anyone give me some advise? Please simplify, I'm no computer wiz.

First, make sure you have DVD RW disc and not DVD RAM discs. Some PC DVD player/burners do NOT support DVD RAM disc at all.

 

Finalize the minDVD in the camcorder

Insert into the computer's DVD player/burner

Launch Media Import 9

Click the VIDEO TAB

Click on the drop down list and the DVD player should be listed.

 

If it is not, then Media Import is not recognizing the miniDVD correctly.
