8004521e - Error while Recording Menus

Serge

Question

Hi folks!

Well, as the title indicates, that is the error message I received while trying to encode a new ISO file to disk. The check program utility indicated no error. It started to encode the project and was still encoding the menus when that error message appeared. After clicking close (or OK?) on the pop-up, the "create DVD" module just disapeared/died and the main EMC9 window came back up. I verified the system log files but nothing showed for Roxio.

Would anyone have an idea what that error message is? Is this a new one? Guess I will have to re-install again. :)

I am having similar problems. MyDVD stops (hangs, freezes) at 97% Progress at the "Encoding Menus" Task. However, I tried using the 'default' menu background, importing the movies then MyDVD 9 burned the DVD successfully.

I personally don't want all my movies to have the same background. I have the latest drivers. So, I also tried using a .png, .jpg, and .bmp. backgrounds, with no luck.

The search for the real solution rather than a workaround continues ...

Success!

I have a NVIDIA Dispaly Adapter. I had done the 'obvious' of control panel, > system, > hardware, device manager, > Dispaly adapters, right mouse click and "Update Drivers". However, I kept looking around and saw the suggestion is go to the website of the manufactur and download the latest drivers. That works. My menus are encoding and writing to DVDs .. two in a row without problems.

Good luck ... computers.. there's nothing like a good puzzle!
