When installing Easy Media Creator 9 Suite, I am prompted for my preferred language [English], a Setup window appears indicating "Please wait while setup loads", then an error window appears indicating "Setup encountered an error during installation. Error Code: 0490". I also have Easy Media Creator 7.5 which does not give me any problem uninstalling and installing. I have followed the instructions for performing a "clean install" of EMC 9, but continue to get the same error message [Error Code: 0490]. Any suggestions?

Did you uninstall Drag to Disc from EMC7 before installing v9?

 

EMC9 installs D2D by default (you can't stop it) and if the older version is still there you will get a clash

I have the same problem except I never get the 0409 error code only Error Code 0490

I have EXACTLY the same problem. I tried a clean install after removing everything related to Roxio according to instructions found elsewhere on the site. No difference. My prior version is Version 6, which installs and uninstalls without incident. I have a help ticket opened. No response so far.
