Easy Media Creator 9 Crash

David@44

Question

I found a troubling problem causing my XP Pro computer to crash when I burned photo files on a DVD-RW with Roxio Easy Creator 9.

After burning several folders without difficulty, I dragged several additional folders to be burned. Things went along smoothly until I saw a message:

The file [FILE NAME] has extra information attached to it that might be lost

if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected.

Information that might be lost includes:

:Roxio EMC: Stream:$DATA

Do you want to proceed anyway?

Yes Yes To All No Cancel

Answering "Yes" or "Yes to All" resulted in a crash; "No" or "Cancel" allowed the procedure to continue.

This is a reproduceable error. A Windows message contained this: Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCom\RoxWatch Tray 9.exe R6025- pure function call.

What is ":Roxio EMC:Stream:$DATA" ?

I also found another disk with the same folder. That copy could be burned.
