Audio Error

Blue38

Question

I'm trying to burn a bin/cue movie, and it gives me this error everytime: "CD-ROM XA or Audio tracks cannot be written to DVD".

I go to the copy tab, and open the tray, and both the burn from "Image file" and burn from "Bin/Cue files" bullets don't work.

I like to think I know a fair bit about computers, and i have fooled around with the settings and such, but i've only had my macbook/toast for 6 months.

Any help?

error: "CD-ROM XA or Audio tracks cannot be written to DVD"

Like it says, CD-ROM XA (which VCD and SVCD movies use) cannot be written to DVD, only to CD.

If you want to burn this movie as DVD-Video, then you'll need to extract MPEG files out of the disc image and transcode them to DVD-Video.

If you just want to watch it on a computer, then you can drag-and-drop the .bin or .cue file onto VLC.

I was really hoping i could burn the movie. How do i go about removing the audio? it sounds way out of my league

You can burn the movie, just use CD-Rs instead of DVD. (S)VCD .bin files upto 805 MB will fit on a regular CD-R, marked for 700 MB data. Try it.

No need to remove audio. The "Audio tracks" in the error message refers to music CDs (CD-DA "red book") in bin/cue format. The "CD-ROM XA" in the error message refers to VCD and SVCD in bin/cue format. Both need CD media.

If you really want to burn it to DVD, do the following.

1. Control click on the bin file and do Mount It

2. Drag and drop the mounted disc to Toast Video format

Toast should add all the video files. Unsupported files will not be added. After you add the files, select DVD and burn to a DVD. Toast will convert the files if needed.
