Rebate confusion

GregW

Question

I bought Toast 7 about a year and a half ago and Toast 8 last week, both via download. The rebate form asks for "a copy of your confirmation receipt for the above qualified products containing your CD-Key from your downloadable product purchase."

I have confirmation e-mails from the Toast 7 purchase that include the CD key but nowhere indicate that they are to be considered receipts. (And ISTR I had trouble with _that_ rebate when I tried to submit them.) I also have something that clearly identifies itself as a receipt from Digital River on Roxio's behalf, but it doesn't contain the license key.

Any thoughts on which thing(s) I should send in to give me the best shot at actually having the rebate honored?

Did you purchase the upgrade of Toast 8 or the full version? What price was paid?

I purchased the full version download through Roxio's web site for which a $30 upgrader rebate was available. I paid $99.99 less a 10% discount. As noted, the rebate request is currently rejected because the fulfillment house claims I have not provided evidence that I have a license to Toast 7.

I see that now there's an upgrade price of $59.99; the same net cost without the hassle of the rebate. That option wasn't available last month when I purchased.

I would be safe and just send both. They shouldn't have a problem with more data then they need.

Perhaps the volume of information has confused them. Despite sending in all relevant pages with the required information clearly highlighted, I've just been told that my submission will not be honored because I didn't provide proof of previous ownership. I'm not sure what they want if a dated sales receipt and a license key aren't sufficient.
