The first one relates to restoring data from another computer. I have recently upgraded to a new computer. I backed up my data using Backup MyPC and can restore the data on the original machine. On the new machine when I go to restore and select Device View and refresh the view the following error message is displayed:
"This media contains no backups. It cannot be cataloged. Please insert another media to continue."
Issue 2
When using Backup MyPC to backup to CD-R the backup proceeds until the verification stage. The following error message is then displayed:
"Unable to read the final portion of the last backup, because the media was damaged or another application had appended it's data. The recovery process may require modifications that will cause truncation of the final data. Do you want to recover?"
Environment
My computer is
HP Pavilion DV6000
1gb RAM
120GB Hard Drive
Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005
CD Drive: Sony DVD RW DW-G520A
Revision: GPSD
Software running:
Norton Internet Security 2006
Norton Antivirus 2006
When performing the backup I disable auto-protect.
Note: The issues described above only occur with CD-R disks. I have been able to backup using CD/RW and DVD+RW. However I have a years worth of backups on CD-R.
