MyDVD 9 Button Styles

maidmarianiii

Question

:) I'm sure this is a repost and I apologize...I have read other post on this subject but they did not help my situation - Sonic Solutions just su*^. So here it is.... I have Roxio MyDVD 9 Studio Premiere, it was a stand alone download from their site, installed on a partitioned drive. There is no Content folder download to get or install. I did new OS install of Win XP and folder options are set properly to recoginize the png files. (these were all recommended fixes for others). I do not have nor do I want EMC 9.

My Problems is there are not button styles available....the images are not there, just a red circle with a slash thru them. (reference this post http://forums.support.roxio.com/lofiversio...php/t15750.html ). What is up with this and how can I fix this problem? And, is there only 3 menu styles available?

PLEASE HELP - I have spent many hours searching solution and I know the people here are both smarter and more helpful then Sonic. I thank anyone in advance

Freesky2 found the solution to the problem and listed it in the thread that you just posted the link to. What part of the thread did you miss?

I only ask, because you are still asking how you can fix your problem.

Thanks grandpabruce, but are you using EMC9 or was there a part of my post you missed? I do not have EMC9, but I did try the shortcut and it did not work. That is why i'm reposting this problem.

Your symptoms are exactly like those posted in the link in my last post.

:) I know, and it is really ticking me off. The other fix seems to work if your using EMC9 but not for mine. Read a couple of other posts with the same problem as mine with no solution......Was just hoping someone here had my same situation with a fix....but again, thanks for the reply's.

:D:D Do a repair install or a complete uninstall/install. Sometimes this fixes problems like yours caused by, perhaps having your anti-virus running during the install or because of having malware on your computer.. Make sure your computer is cleaned of malware, and defrag your system hard drive. Install with your anti-virus off. Did you download or buy the disc version?

How about posting some computer specs to see if you meet or exceed the minimum requirements. Update your video drivers and install the latest version of DirectX 9.

If Bruce's fix doesn't work, then you have a different problem and you might be beating your head against a wall trying to fix it with one of the other posts. Please provide more information.

The fix you mentioned only worked about 30% for me as many of my buttons still don't work but before the fix, I couldn't see any, at least I can see more now. I'm baffled at this as well. You'd think if some show up, they all would. Funnier still, on another machine, the fix partially worked too but not all the same buttons show up. Figure that out!

Well the one fix doesn't work because I don't have EMC9, and yes I did find that other link - BUT as I said, I only use the My DVD program and all the Roxio Studio stuff is useless to me because I build my videos in Premiere. I thank everyone for their help and input, it was 100x more than Sonic provided. I grabbed my refund before it was too late and will go back to an older version of MyDVD (since I already have files in that format). Hope I can return the support sometime soon.

Thanks Sknis & Beerman, I have uninstalled/reinstalled at least 5 times, norton turned off, have current DirectX, system is clean and new, all drivers up to date, computer spec well above whats needed. I use Adobe Premiere CS to produce commercials so MyDVD is just a program I use for my home personal (fun) stuff and may even down grade back to a lower version. This doesn't seem to be worth the hassle. OH, EXCEPT I WOULD HAVE TO GET AHOLD OF ROXIO/SONIC TO DO THAT :) There's another 2 weeks out of my life.

It is a downloaded version

Intel Core Duo processor (1.86 GHz, 1066 FSB)

2 GB Ram

ATI 9600

500 GB HD (with additionals)

XP

Thanks again to all for taking the time to help
