installing preferences for desktop menu items

rtdunham

Question

toast 8 for mac preferences>general first item is a checkbox for installing desktop startup menu items for "toast it" and "mount it"

i click that box, restart, but nothing shows up in the menu bar. am i looking in the wrong place/not understanding what's being installed?

ok, i figured it out, so i'll explain here in case my question has anyone else wondering (the rest of you probably "got it" from the get-go!

installing those desktop menu items means when any item's selected on the desktop, the contextual menu that drops down following a "ctrl-click" (or right click with a mouse, right?)--includes a new menu, "toast it" or "mount it" depending on the context. so you can burn right from the menu without having to open toast. nice.

it WAS hard to find that explanation in the help menus, "ask roxanne" or whoever she is, etc: searches for installing desktop menu items had no hits, for ex.
