new findings on compatible players

artgug

Question

I have a Samsung player here at home, which plays BDAV files from the included software just fine. It will not play discs made from DVD It Pro HD at all. (BDMV)

I took 2 discs (1 BDMV & 1 BDAV) over to the local Best buy and here were my findings:

The samsung in the store would play neither (funny because mine at least plays the BDAV disc)

The Sony and Panasonic players refused to play either disc

The pioneer ($1500) one would play the BDMV version from DVD ItProHD, but would not play the BD-AV.

Any other updates from anyone would be great, if Samsung would just update to allow BDMV, all would be golden here.

Thanks

Add: PS3 - \BDAV = works (though I haven't got chapter points to work), \BDMV = no

Thanks for the info!

The newer samsung firmware, i think, broke the \bdav playback.

Would like to see how the new Phillips player does.
