Why am I getting error 8007139F?

Juan Dent

Question

Hi,

I apologize for posting again but days have gone by and no reply to my previous post has arrived :) . Perhaps my question was to big.

All I really want to know is why I got this error:

Unable to create a snapshot (shadow) copy of files that may be in use, reverting to no snapshot backup.

(8007139F) : The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

and how to solve it.

That's all!

Thank you in advance,

Juan Dent

Basically, not getting an answer means nobody knows one

However, if you can be more epcific in the fault - what program you were using, system specs, etc someone may be able to work out what is happening

All you've said really is 'my car won't start' and haven't even told us what make of car it is

Hi,

Thanks for answering. The problem I report occurs with Easy Media Creator 9, when I try to create a backup of my drive C: and system state (registry), choosing System Backup (which brings up Backup MyPC 7), then I choose "Back up selected files. folders and drives", then select drive C and system state, then "All selected files", then backup to a file in an external USB hard drive. Somewhere (I forget where, sorry), I also set that files in use should also be backed up (the snapshot or shadow setting). This is where my backup does not behave as expected: e.g. I had left Outlook open on purpose and it was not backuped up.

Instead I received errors to all open files not being backed up.

Is this more precise as to the error? :)

Thank you again,

Juan Dent
