Cineplayer dependancies

johnata

Question

Hi,

Does anyone know if Cineplayer depends on other components such as Media Manager. When installing Roxio EMC 9, I didn't install Media Manager and now Cineplayer (and Media Experience) start up and immediately silently exit. I didn't think of this before but maybe Cineplayer depends in some fashion on Media Manager...

I don't think dependencies have anything to do with what you are experiencing. I have installed the entire sweet and I cannot get CinePlayer to work without crashing or generating an exception error. I too have noted it starting and then just disappearing (closing) for no apparent reason on occasion. There are lots of problems with CinePlayer and none of the posted patches have helped (you might try the Divx work around, but I doubt that will solve your silent exit issue).

I am hoping Roxio issues a Service Pack soon, because there are lots of issues besides CinePlayer that are documented bugs. I am using NERO to test my DVD's until Roxio fixes these problems (hopefully soon and "Day & Date" with VISTA release).

I've resolved the problem with the following steps:

1) Installed Media Manager. After which Cineplayer and Media Experience worked just fine

2) Uninstalled Media Manager. After which Cineplayer and Media Experience continued to work just fine.

I guess I just had to install Media Manager once.
