Label Creator, v6, problem after saving

After editing and printing the labels, the first time I save the project the screen no longer updates (refreshes). Each time I select an item, every new thing becomes superimposed over the old. It's not just a matter that the screen alone isn't updated; the garbage is actually saved, so if I reopen the same project, same problem. I''ve tried reinstalling the program; doesn't help.
