Can't Export video from a DVD

SK_56

Question

I just purchased Toast 8 so that I can take DVD's that I recorded on my DVD recorder (home movie and such) and use them in I-movie. I want to use toast to export the video from the DVD to a format such as DV that I can use in I-movie.

When I drag the video from the DVD into toast it allows me to select it and choose export, but it only exports a small fraction of the video. The video file is actually about 1 hour long. I've tried from both a disc image and from the DVD .. same result. I've even tried to export to different formats. The strange thing is that Toast says the video is only 00:25 long? It's really about 1 hour. Over 1 Gig.

Please help... what am I doing wrong?

The process to follow is using the Media Browser. Insert the DVD and choose DVD with the top button of the Media Browser. When you DVD shows up in the lower window either double click on it or go down one level with the lower button. The individual titles that are on the disc now appear. Drag the ones you want to the Toast Video window.

Toast extracts the MPEGs from the disc and writes them to the Roxio Converted Items folder. When it finishes this you can eject the disc. Your export will now work properly.
