I am posting to this thread a solution for audio sync problems that I found on the EMC9 thread. I have both EMC7 and 9 and this solution worked very well for 7 in a production I finally was able to complete.
It seems that while rendering, the graphics card in the computer might take over the encoding from the software. The evidence shows if you watch the files during the rendering process and see the MPEG graphic pop up from time to time. Here's the easy solution as posted by Kenn. Simply place a blank text line in the timeline.
This fools the computer into relying totally on the software to do the encoding rather than your graphics card.
Open your production's timeline, prior to rendering, and click the add text box above. Drag and drop any style of text down to the timeline's text line. The text window will open. Backspace out the default text to leave it blank. You will then see a text line running the entire length of your production. I place my text into the storyline on the appropriate frames so there is no conflict. This simple procedure solved hours of frustration for me and I am so gratreful for Kenn's suggestion. Hope this helps you too!
