Roxio Creator suite 9 - HELP!

aydeet

Question

 I have been trying to create a slideshow of over 200 slides.... I have tried photostory3, ArcSoft and finally purchased Roxio 9... but I want to add several audio clips (maybe 3 or so) can I add them to certain slides or the only option is background? I also want to add random transitions... and a title page/slide.

and I am going to copy to a DVD for mother inlaw.. this slideshow presention will be shown at a Birthday Dinner.. I have never done this before and need some help.

Do I start in slideshow assistant? or somewhere else since the options I want do not show up in assistant

I need step by step for dummies on this one... :)

1) but I want to add several audio clips (maybe 3 or so) can I add them to certain slides or the only option is background?

Ans: You can add different audios in the music/narration/sfx tracks of Videowave. And you can adjust them to play only in specific slides

2) I also want to add random transitions

Ans: Vdieowave has the Potluck transition theme (this is the random transition theme)

3) and a title page/slide.

Ans: You can add a color panel and insert texts there for your intro, or you can add text in a slide

4) and I am going to copy to a DVD for mother inlaw

And: Bring in your Videowave production to MyDVD. Do the authoring (menu/background music/title text/etc) tehre and create an image file. Use Disc Copier to burn the image file onto DVD

PS: Must be a great mother-in-law!

5) Do I start in slideshow assistant?

Ans: Use Videowave and read the posts I recommended above.

alas... I never did find the 'potluck' transition theme.. and I was on my brand new dell with latest video and drivers.. it would have been nice to find the potluck.. it didnt even have anything remotely random.. the the themes I listed above.. when I wanted to change any of the transitons to something like hearts I had to do it manually

but... the DVD burned and worked nicely - although I have not tried it on a TV as yet but the slideshow is going to be run from my laptop so not too worried .

Open VideoWave via Windows>Start>Programs>Easy Media Creator 9> Video> VideoWave. For some people there is a glitch that won't allow an application to open fully

You did install the contents disc didn't you? I'm not sure if it is on that disc or not. Try uninstalling the content, then open VideoWave and close it; reinstall the content disc. Sometimes the program forgets were some things are.

The above is based on being in hardware mode.

If you Dell is a laptop, it has an integrated video chip, which may not support all of the DirectX 9 features that EMC 9 requires.

As was previously suggested, check to see if you are in hardware mode. If not, run the graphics test, and if it stays in software mode, you won't have the Random, Potluck, and many other transitions available to you.

Take a look at this post. The option mentioned is invoked from Videowave via Too;s>Options. Potluck transitions are only available in Hardware mode.

I added new drivers but I guess it wasnt enough

Thanks again
