Adding Narration to slides

russmit

Question

I have a power point presentation I want to use to create a DVD from. I have changed all of hte slides to jpegs. Now I want to add narration to the DVD I am creating. Each slide will have a different duration. How do I record the narration for each slid and have the slide change at the end of the narration?

I have searched the help topic and read the user guide but I just can't seem to get what they suggest to work for me.

Any help anyone can off would be appreciated.

There are a couple ways of doing this and I normally don't recommend any of the assistants, in this case for ease, try the Slide Show Assistant under the photo tab. Once you add your images, go to step 2. There is a transition called "DVD Photo Projector" that allows you to use the DVD players remote to navigate the images. In step 2, select an image and look near the top for a microphone icon. You can add your narration there.

Normally I would suggest using VideoWave to do this but you don't have the ability to navigate back and forth as above. Add the images to the story line view. Set the default image duration for longer than what you think that the narration will take. Select an image, go to the internal track and add the narration there. You can always adjust the duration up or down for an individual image to adjust for the actual duration of the narration. The "trim" or scissor icon will adjust the duration of the select image up or down. (Bad choice of term and icon.)
