MYDVD 9 STUDIO Premier... HELP!

goadk123

Question

OK. here we go!

I worked well with MYDVD 6.2 and created several multi video collections of slideshows (created in photostory3....and camera videos...with no problem.

Then...I used CAPWIZ to convert my home VCR videos to my computer so I could create Custom DVDS with MYDVD player. The converted videos can play on windows media player.

The I added those files into MYDVD 6.2. all were of correct file types required. When I went to burn the DVD ..all went well UNTIL..it went to "planning video for movie..." and it stopped half way (not freezing)...and never .(hours later) completing.

So...I decided to up my RAM to 1 gig. (WINDOWS xp HOME EDITION/ pentium 4 processor Notebook...had upgraded to Windows Media Player 11...then rolled back to WMP 10 as Roxio said MYDVD6.2 could conflict with WMP11)

Made sure I had at least 20 gig free space..defragged and shut off my anti virus programs etc.

I tried again with MYDVD 6.2. THEN..... I EVEN UPGRADED TO ...purchasing MYDVD 9 Studio Premier!!

After figuring out the program..I was able to create and burn the DVD with a collection of videos from my camera and converted videos...and it DID complete the burn....BUT...

It would not play on my computer or portable DVD player (which played previous created DVDS)

When I tried to open on my computer...It came up with a message :

windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows.

SHould i upgrade back to Windows Med. Player 11.?? I used a higher quality DVD+R fugifilm.

This is getting VERY frustrating!...and costly!

HELP! Karen

My guess is that the disc is bad or your burner is going belly up. Do you have or download a free version of DVD Info Pro and see if there are read errors on the DVD. Did you format the blank.? Also see if there is new firmware for your burner. Info Pro will tell you a lot about your burner. Follow the instructions about update firmware carefully.

Did the preview in MyDVD look OK? With that program do you have the ability to burn to an Image file? If so, do that and then use something like Disc Copier to copy the iso file to a disc.

Since you have had several problems, it may not be the Roxio program that is the key; perhaps something else is giving you the problem. Have you checked for malware recently?

Fujifilm is now made in several places; the ones made in Taiwan seem to be poorer than the originals made in Japan.
