Runtime Error

BillW

Question

Whenever my computer comes up after a reboot, it stops everything it's doing and displays the following error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Rutime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...Commonfiles\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatchTray9.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information.

It will not continue coming up from the reboot until I click OK. Then it completes the reboot and everything appears to run just fine. Has anyone else encountered this problem and do you have a solution.

Thank you.

Quick fix

Go to start>run and type msconfig

uncheck RoxWatchTray and close

reboot

tell the nag screen 'Pray go away and don't bother asking me again' and that should cure it

The RoxWatch is a bit of a resource hog anyway and most of us disable it for that reason
