Crash when creating an audio CD (RecordNow 8 Premier)

UnderDriven

Question

Hello. I am trying to create an audio CD with RecordNow 8 Premier. I have created a list of songs to write to the CD. When I tell the application to write the songs, the application crashes (the progress bar shows full progress in about 15 seconds--before the burner even spins up--then it crashes and sends a report to Microsoft). I can write data CDs with no problem, so the application can access and write to the drive (Pioneer DVR-111D). I have updated the burner driver to the latest version with no effect. I have used previous versions of Roxio software to make audio CDs, so I understand the process...

I read online that I may need to update the PXEngine, so I downloaded the latest version. However, when I try to run the installer, I get this error: "Unable to write to the current directory. This installation file needs to be able to read/write to the current directory. Please charge the permissions for the current directory or move the installer to a location that has the proper read/write permissions." I have edited the permissions and as far as I can tell the permissions are correct for reading/writing (I gave everyone full permission on the drive and the file is in the top folder on the drive, and children are inheriting permissions from the parent). I have never seen this error and I have installed lots of software on my computer...

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Keith
