Express Labeler - false positive trojan detection?

tinball

Question

Hi, everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me.

AVG has detected stax.exe in C:\Program Files\Sonic\Express Labeler as PSW.Banker3.AQQ trojan. I have not been able to find much useful information on either AVG's site or with googling the file name or trojan name.

I was wondering if those of you who have Express Labler were able to confirm if this is a legitimate file for the program and possibly provide an md5 hash of the file for verification since there is likely a real trojan using the same file name.

Thank you very much

I am running AVG Free 7.5.441. I don't know what the internal virus database version was at the time of the detection however since it has been updated at least one time since then.

This was the first time it picked it up as well and I have been using AVG for a while. Also the Sonic programs have been on my machine for quite some time too. I just have never used the labeler. I found it odd that it picked it up and I really was concerned that I had inadvertantly gotten hit with something.

Yeah,7.5.441 is the latest update. It got applied sometime between the 5th when I wrote and today when you responded. That doesn't really matter,I was just trying to make sure you weren't still on 7.0.

Weird that on your machine it finds that file as a virus and on mine with the same file it finds nothing.

Thanks for the information. I did search the grisoft site and didn't get any hits. However I didn't search for "sonic". The virus database didn't have anything listed at all. And a google search turned up nothing of real value either but then again it is all in how you phrase your search sometimes.

Thanks again for the confirmation as that is all I was looking for.
