You provided no information on the product and on your computer. :D From your post, no one can tell if you even have a Roxio product. Please post the version, what function you are trying to use and exactly what you are trying to do. Now, other than your computer has an external DL burner, there is no information on your computer, not even anything on the burner itself. Posters can try to help you but you are going to have to help them by providing a lot more information. :)

These posts used to be "my car won't start". You got to at least tell us what kind of car and what happens when you try to start it.

Well, my signature provides my computer specs, and I am posting in the Easy Media Creator 8 forums...really...how much more obvious can it be? I just purchased the download version of EMC8 so it should be the most updated version. My external dvd burner is a LaCie External Porsche-Designed 16x Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW Drive (FireWire, Model 300775U).

Since there are a couple dozen programs in EMC8 that you could be trying to burn with, which one specifically did this occur in? What steps had you performed before the burn process started?

Were there any messages displayed when it restarted? If so, do you know what the text of them were?

Sorry, when I went to edit my post, it and the subsequent posts got deleted. I remember the last question was - what function (program) within V8 are you using?

I've tried several including VideoWave, but IMHO, I don't think it matters which program I used. I could've used any program and it would have still restarted my computer. I know it's not a heat issue...I watched my temps and everything stayed normal. I'm thinking it might be a graphics card conflict. I read that other people with different cards are having the same problem. Maybe a conflict with SLi? I burned a dvd just fine (with EMC8) on my other computer (which is a simple eMachine) and not a single problem.

I hope that it isn't a conflict with SLi. I want that same motherboard. Do a search of other sites to see if there has been a problem with that board. Also check the ASUS website to see if there are any firmware updates.
