Video Wave: video trimming jog wheel

I am having trouble using the video trimming tool in Video Wave.

 

I use the green tab in the center to get close to where I want to

begin the clip. Then I use the jog wheel to fine-tune the start place.

Two difficulties:

 

1. I use the mouse to click-drag the wheel a little: But when I stop (release

the mouse), then move the mouse again, the wheel moves a bit more.

 

2. I get the location I want and click Set Start. But then the start sets to where the green tab is located ignoring the location I chose using the jog wheel.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One of my pet peeves of the trimmer. You MUST click the green marker before moving the jog wheel. Then hit 'set start'. Seems to be really picky which order you do it for it to 'stick'.

I find it much easier to trim by using Video wave in time line mode. Start playing the clip. stop when you get to where you want to trim, if necessary go back or forward frame by frame (the buttons to left or right of the play/pause button) in the preview untill you get to the exact spot, then click split the selected item. Then right click on the bit you want to remove, click delete.
