"Fit to Disc" quality question

I am 20 minutes over the time limit on my DVD project, IF I were to use the highest quality on a 4.7Gb DVD. (It is a 2-part TV show I recorded, and edited the commercials out of.)

 

Does anyone have any experience in just how much video quality is lost by using "Fit to Disk," or SP, LP or EP for that matter?

If you have some RW media, why not try it and see?

 

Plan B is burn it to file (iso), then use Disc Copier to burn the iso file and allow it to recompress to fit. – DC's burn engine seems to do a better job of it.

If you make an iso make sure that you go in and uncheck fit to disc in the burn settings.
