VideoWave / MyDVD Error

Rafiki

Question

After trying various things to resolve the VideoWave 9 and MyDVD errors I noticed ggrussell's post (http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=17090) re the Hardware/Software test. Even with an NVIDIA GForce FX4500 at 800fps and 40fps for Rendering, MyDVD decided to change to Software. When I then try to open an .avi captured by EMC9, I get an error window with ".\DVD Content.cpp(171): *** Error 80004005" in it.

If I rerun the test MyDVD states it's now changed it to hardware :)

Neither Hardware or Software options change the problem except that one generates the error message above.

Usual suggestions are

Update your graphics drivers (go to the nVidia, ATI, or whoever's website and get their latest drivers)

Install the latest version of DirectX 9.0c (Feb release) from MS

Possibility - Internet Explorer 7 and Media Player 11 (these both have been reported as causing problems)
