Only thing I can suggest here is you try it on a RW disc in both settings and see which (if any) is the better quality.

Personally, I'm tempted to interlace (simply because I worked in the TV business for more years than I really want to remember) but I won't knock progressive (I just don't know enough about it)

As the mother said to the child when it got it's first lollipop "Suck it and see" :)

Thanks for that.

The issue came up when I went into Project Settings to see what I was outputting.

It was set to Interlace which must be what I've outputted thus far with no quality problems on my "telly".

I'll try what you suggest and see if Progressive improves the quality.

It really doesn't matter much really because a DVD player with progressive output will deinterlace. It mostly depends on HOW you have the TV connected to the DVD Player. RF and Composite outputs are always interlaced. RGB and HDMI are usually progressive.

If the DVD is 'interlaced' encoded and you have the DVD player connected as 'progressive', the DVD player should output as progessive.

If the DVD is 'progressive' encoded and you have the DVD player connected as 'interlaced', the DVD player should interlace the output.

With that said, some people would swear the quality is better if the the DVD is encoded as progressive even IF it is connected with RF or composite (interlaced). They say they see less of the 'jaggies'.

Personally, I have always encoded as interlaced and have always been pleased with the output.
