Can't Retain File Name Originally Had When Burning Audio CD

mariajef

Question

Hi

After creating various audio cds which had the names of the tunes on the list in Toast 8, I notice that when I burn a cd, it simply assigns numbers and eliminates the name I had given to the file.

How can I retain the file names after burning?

Thanks!

I created an "audio cd" in toast 8. burned it. on the blank disc that i burned to, the files were named "1" to ""20", not the names that i had given them on toast.

how can i preserve these names?

thanks,

Was your CD Text box checked?

Insert your burned Audio CD and choose Disc Info from the Recorder menu in Toast. There you should see if the disc has the CD Text track names burned to the CD.

The Mac OS does not read CD Text so you will end up with the generic track names when inserting the burned CD in your Mac. To change the generic names you need to edit the names where the generic names appear in iTunes. There is an Applescript called CD Text to CD Info that will automate this function. You can find it at www.dougscripts.com.
