Incompatible .avi?

I added an .avi clip into DVD Builder, but it only shows up as a black screen. When I double click on the little black screen to bring up the Preview box, the Preview is just locked up, will not play, does not show anything.

The clip plays fine in Windows Media Media Player.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I hear .AVI messes up DVD Builder... hahaha, figures. When I use .AVI files, guess what? The whole thing shuts down during burning time, when it encodes. You can, though, always convert the files to MPEG using videowave by just re-rendering them as they are. Obviously, though, there is that little issue where you might get a sound-video dis-sync. Yup. The program is not as golden as it should be, but hey... nothing in life is perfect.

What happens if you add the file to a storyline in VideoWave?

I don't know hat you mean by "avi messes up DVD Builder"? I know that not all avi files are equal and that EMC 7 does have problems with some avis, especially DivXs. I have never had a avi mess up my DVD Builder. From your other post I think you have some other problem with your computer, perhaps a lack of free space, fragmented hard drive or even spy/ad-ware problems.
