slide show

Lois

Question

I have made several slide shows and saved them to my hard drive. I recently organized many of my existing pictures (in mypictures file)into new folders. Since I have done that My old slide show files will not open up, it says they cannot find files. Some pictures will open, but any picture or song. for that matter that I have moved into a different location will not open. I am very frustrated because a couple of these files I did not save to disc. Is there any way to solve this problem, and/or does the new software remedy this problem.

Thank You

No version of any video editing software, that I have used, embeds the files into the production, for obvious reasons.

You can double click on the panels with the question marks and browse to where the picture now resides. If you don't have the files on your computer, that part of the production is gone.

What do you mean by "you have a lot of great slideshow"? Are those the slideshow project files (with the dmsm extension assuming you used Videowave to create the slideshow)? The project files simply contain instructions on how to create a slideshow with links to the locations of all components in your slideshow. If you move any of the source files the links are broken and you will have to relink manually. EMC 7.5 does not do it for you.

Why have you not burned your slideshows to a DVD or CD?

Unfortunately, the program cannot locate them by itself.

Which program did you use to make the slideshows? The way you relink them depends on the program you used to make them.

The program is looking for the place the files were when you made the slide show. It isn't going to look for them somewhere else. YOU have to point it to where they now reside. Time consuming, but you are the one that moved them. And don't feel bad. I did the same thing, way back when.
