Yes, that's what I'd expect to happen when you don't have that codec installed. I'm not suggesting this as a way to make the DVD you burned play with sound. Toss it in the garbage. I'm suggesting you install the codec and do the project over again in Toast. With this codec installed Toast will be able to properly use the audio that's in the AVI. If you are afraid to waste another disc choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu. When it is finished, mount the disc image and test it with DVD Player. If all is well, burn the disc image file using the Toast Copy window.

Ok, I will try it.I still do not understand how installing a codec in Quick Time will allow Toast to burn a AVI movie with sound, but I am going to try it now.

Excuse the dumb question, but will you please explain how that is going to help me ??

Your downloaded movie apparently has audio encoded in a format that needs another QuickTime codec. Give this one a try as it is the most likely one to solve your issue.

Thanks for the reply, but the movie is in avi and quick time does not play avi, so I use VLC to watch the movie, and it plays fine on my computer with sound ,but whenI burn it with toast there is no sound when I play it on my computer or on my home dvd player.
