mhale7
After burning photos on a CD or DVD, for that matter, if I try to burn additional photos on, Creator Classic appears and then disappears! Any suggestions? Ken
lynn98109
You are welcome and I'm glad you got your newer version back working correctly now. "RoxiZap" has worked for others that have had similar problems and there have been still others that have used it and still have had no luck. One thing that I have noticed in how you solved your problem was "Removed EMC 7" (assume you did that using Add/remove programs in control Panel) then rebooted and THEN RAN ROXIZAP, and rebooted and then re-installed EMC 7 again. Some of the others that had a similar problem ran Roxizap first and did not do a removal before that. maybe that would make a difference. Thanks for letting the forum know the particular steps you took to solve your problem. That is always nice to see. Frank..... If you have WinXP, and use Roxizap before doing add/remove, the next step is to report you have "missing burners", and then learn you have to edit the registry to get them back. It is an excellent idea to run add/remove first. Lynn
khenke7
Does this happen with all disks/discs that you try? I have only tried Mistui Gold discs. Being they are top notched when it comes to archival quality, I believe they would not be the issue.

flwiii1
I have similar problem. Does Roxio have a fix for this? I have 2 Plextor burners, one 12/10/32A CD/RW and one 716A Dual Layer DVD burner. I run a dual boot system. One is WinXP Pro for office work, and the other is WinXP Pro for Video work only. I have Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 running on Win XP Pro for office and it works fine. Classic Creator will open and can be used. On the WinXP Pro for Video I have the newer Easy Media Creator 7 installed. Everything but Classic Creator works. Classic Creator will start, show the splash screen, open its main windows and then promptly shut down and disappear. When I check running applications it is not open. It is not drive problems as I have the latest firmware updates from Plextor, and if it were drive problems I would have troubles in Creator 6. Does anyone have any suggestions that will work. I have tried everthing that Roxio Knowledge Base has suggested and it doesn't work. I want to run Creator 7, but if all else fails I will remove Creator 7 and install Creator 6 on the second WinXP Pro unless someone can supply some answers to this problem. grandpabruce
Yes! Ok, then. Explain, step by step, what you do that causes the problem.
REDWAGON
This is only a suggestion, but back in post # 11 the OP made a statement "If one can't do multiple burns on a disc-----". I assume you are trying to burn additional files to the SAME disc ? This maybe a dumb question and a stab at a possible answer, but if the settings on the first burn were set to "finalized" the disc, then no more data can be burned to it no matter what. Frank.... khenke7
If you do not have the disk or disc in your drive, will Creator Classic stay open? When I open Creator Classic with a disc that I had successfully burned data, the program quickly shuts down.
grandpabruce
When I open Creator Classic with a disc that I had successfully burned data, the program quickly shuts down. Do you put the disc in first, then open Creator Classic, or the other way around? Have you tried it both ways?

Redwagon713: I don't get as far with the program as the original poster on this topic. I can put a blank in the DVD burner only, (nothing in the CD/RW) and start the Classic Creator program and it will not launch. It comes up and immediately disappears. It does the same thing if I have nothing in either drive and if I disable both drives still no improvement. The Classic Creator application will not launch. I uninstalled Creator 7, rebooted, reinstalled the program, rebooted, opened Creator 7, clicked on Classic Creator and it starts and immediately disappears. REDWAGON
Just a couple of suggestions that might help or not. Open the EMC 7 Media Suite main Menu from your desk top, click on "Copy Files to Disc" under the "DATA" menu option (top of the screen). Does this way of opening up Creator Classic work ? Also, you might try opening up "Windows Explorer" and click on the C:/ (main drive) and cursor down to and click on "Program Files" trhen cursor down to "Roxio" then "Easy media Creator 7" then "Creator Classic" and on the right side of the split screen you should have a file named "Creator7.exe" Try double clicking on this file and see if Creator Classic opens. If you don't have this file, then something is definitely wrong as this is the file that the program looks for to open Creator Classic. If you do have the file listed and it still doesn't open Creator Classic, Again you have a problem that I'm not familiar with. By removing the EMC 7 program from your computer (I suggest first remove by using the Control Panel and "Remove or Add Programs" icon) and then re-install it again. Have you "Updated" the ver 7 to the latest update (1.1.189) ? If so you will have to re-install the update again to get back to where you were. Frank.... Being they are top notched when it comes to archival quality, I believe they would not be the issue. Well, I hope no one else ends up with this problem. Roxio support did suggest various fixes to no avail. I guess it is fairly unique. Lucky me. I still believe I will delete the program, try to delete all references to Roxio in my registry and reload it. Roxio also suggested disabling all startup processes then trying it. Maybe? grandpabruce
Tried both ways....no success! You could try a Repair on the program, through Add/Remove Programs, but not sure if it will solve the problem. Make sure that you select Change and not Remove if you want to give it a go. flwiii1
Redwagon713: I got it to work but I had to use a file I got from Plextor. It comes from Roxio. It is called "roxizap.exe". It is a brute force tool to remove Easy CD Creator 4 or 5. Plextor suggested I run that after I remove Creator 7 again. I removed Creator 7, rebooted, ran roxizap, let it reboot the PC, reinstalled Creator 7 and Classic Creator comes up and remains on the screen. Thanks for all your suggestions. Make sure that you select Change and not Remove if you want to give it a go. I actually went ahead and reinstalled the program. only to have the same problem. Clearly, during the burn process something is happening in which the program won't read the disc anymore. This is very disheartening...I had switched from Nero to Roxio because of some issues. Now those issues don't seem that big now. If one can't do muliple burns on a disc, such a program is basically worthless.
