Motion Menus

Pheral

Question

I have an interesting issue I hope someone may comment on. I'm building some menus with background images that are single frame exports from an editing suite. They are .tifs, 1920 x 1080, and import fine into the software. The problem? For some reason DVDit Pro HD seems some, but not all, of them as motion menus. They show up in the project window with the little motion menu icon, and when you simulate play, they ask to be rendered with the little icon in the simulation window. All button functions seem to work fine, even if I don't render the menus. If I select one of these in the preview window, the attributes window indicates a motion menu rather than an infinite or timed still, though only the duration slider is functional - start and end times are greyed out.

Any ideas?

I'll find out today and let you know. What I worry about is that the software will "render" these still images in a way that might decrease their quality or unnecessarily take up space on the disc I could be using for something else.

Thanks, Scott

Speaking of motion menus...is there a document or how-to for them? The "sticky" manual on the site doesn't talk about it. Sorry to be off subject a bit.

Simple - drop an imported video piece on the Title section of the Project Window to make it a motion menu. You can add buttons, etc. the same as any other menu. When you simulate the project, however, you must render the menu in the simulaation window to see movement. Otherwise, you'll just see a still frame. When you burn the project, it will be rendered the same as any other video piece.
