VISTA problems

DonB23

Question

I have upgraged to Vista Busines and now during startup I get an error that points to the Roxio Update Manager has not been started. Do we need this to use the product or can this be easily disable. Most of the time I come out to Roxio.com anyway. I'm not afraid of editing the registry. :)

It's not really essential (Update Manager) as there aren't any updates to manage yet. You can manually check anyway

Why it should be kicking in anyway is a bit of a mystery (normally it's accessed from the Help menu) - perhaps Vista has added it to the startup group but, not having that particular piece of DRM-ridden bloat installed I can't be certain.

If Vista allows you to, check in the startup section and see if it can be disabled.
