power on reset or bus device reset occured

Schooner

Question

When ever I burn photos to DVD, I get an error - "Power on reset or bus device reset occurred-unit attention" at the 70 to 90% of the burn! Never had that with creator 8, i'm currently using creator 9 and did a clean install when I installed creator 9. I also have IE7 & Media 11 installed.

Thanks, Schooner

I'm not sure about this Daithi, but if the OP has MS Security Updates set to automatic, then maybe the IE7 got snuck in the system that way, as a lot of other users found out. When that happens it might be possible that the IE7 is NOT listed in ADD/REMOVE programs. ????

I never had that happen to me and do not have IE7 on my computers but was just a suggestion.

Try removing both of them - they do cause problems. WMP11 is a lot tighter on DRM than older versions and IE7 has caused a lot of problems to other software (not to mention NOT being compatible with quite a few websites)

Well, I unistalled WMP11 and went back to WMP10, managed to complete a burn to DVD, but when I burned to cd, I got an error message

NEC DVD+RW ND=1100A 9"write error-medium error." (03/0C/007).

I haven't figured how to removed IE7 or get back to IE6 any ideas?

Just uninstall IE7 from add-remove programs - 6 is built-in and will still be there

However, the write error is something else - try a flash upgrade to the drive firmware or even different media. What it's saying is that it is finding a problem with the disc

OK, I finally found it in ADD/DELETE PGRMS (had to check show updates box), deleted it and it DID NOT correct the problem, so any ideas? I still get an error of .... "Power on reset or bus device reset occurred-unit attention" When ever I burn photos to DVD/CD burner, DVD's or cd's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks CU Later Schooner
