Need Help Understanding Computer Specifications

peawie

Question

I would like to upgrade from EMC 7.5 to Roxio9, but am not sure if it will run on my computer in its present condition. I read the specs but didn't completely understand the sound and graphics parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My computer specs are:

Gateway 504GR

200-GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive

MEM DDR 1.5 Gig DDR Ram

Intel (Augsburg) No CPU Motherboard

DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive

200-GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive

Intel® 915G Chipset, consisting of:

Intel® 82915G Graphics Memory Controller Hub (GMCH)

Intel® 82801FB I/O Controller Hub (ICH6)

4-Mbit Firmware Hub (FWH)

Intel® GMA900 onboard graphics subsystem

Intel® High Definition Audio subsystem using the Realtek ALC860 audio codec

Thanks in advance.

You may need to install a dedicated graphics card - as far as I know the graphics chipset you have is onboard and uses shared mamoey and, most probably, wouldn't be up to the job.

Any mid-range graphics card with 256 MB memory should work for you but you need to be certain you get the correct type (PCI, AGP or PCI-e)
